Sustaining the Human-Elephant Landscape

Science | Restoration | Community Partnership | Coexistence

Conservation belongs in the tea shops and bus stands, not just the closed forests.
At The Shola Trust, we bridge the gap between people and elephants through ground-level action. We try to solve it by restoring elephant habitats through invasive species removal, mapping food resources, and designing smart barriers that protect both giants and livelihoods.

Holistic Approach to Coexistence

We believe that true conservation only succeeds when it is rooted in the culture and livelihoods of the people who live alongside the wild. By bridging the gap between ancient indigenous wisdom and modern scientific innovation, we create practical, ground-level solutions for habitat restoration and human-elephant coexistence. Our work moves beyond protected boundaries to heal entire landscapes, ensuring that the survival of the forest is inextricably linked to the well-being of its communities.
